Kimbriki Environmental Compliance
Kimbriki operates under two licences issued to Warringah Council by the Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC) under the protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997.
Major works have begun on the new high level drain that diverts fresh catchment water from the site
The licences are

The licences detail environmental and administrative reporting and monitoring requirements to be complied with.
Kimbriki completes an annual return to the DECC providing all information required for compliance.
Monitoring Requirements for Each Licence
Licence Number 4600
The licence requires Kimbriki to record any complaint received in respect of operations of the landfill, crusher and any other activities other than the vegetation processing area. The vegetation licence refers to Licence Number 12615.
The licence requires Kimbriki to conduct environmental monitoring of surface water and ground water on site.
Three surface water locations, discharge points from the site for the perimeter drains are tested approximately 10 – 12 times per year dependant upon discharge from the site. These sites are primarily a trigger point to ensure no leachate contamination has flowed into the surface waters and at these points testing is for ammonia, pH, suspended solids, BOD and conductivity.
The discharge at these points must not exceed concentration limits as specified in the following table:

Licence Number 12615
The licence requires Kimbriki to record any complaint received in respect of operations of the vegetation processing area.
The licence requires Kimbriki to conduct environmental monitoring of methane concentrations across the green waste platform on a quarterly basis.
All information required to be collected by the licence is reported to the DECC in the annual return which is required to be submitted before 1 March the following year. In that report Kimbriki must also state any non compliance with the conditions of the licence.
Monitoring Results
Kimbriki has completed monitoring requirements for the two DECC licences in accordance with the conditions of each licence.
A sample of results for the last month dated 30 June 2008 is detailed below. This will be updated every 6 months.

Kimbriki also monitors for dust throughout the site; though this is not required by the two licences.
