Warringah is home to some of Sydney's most scenic coastline and cleanest beaches. There are nine patrolled beaches in the area covering 185 hectares of sand, forshore, dunes, lagoons and bluffs.

Over many years, Warringah's beaches have played host to a number of national and international surfing championships and have since gained a reputation for being among the top surfing beaches in the world.

Summer Swimming Season 2008-2009

North Narrabeen, Collaroy, Long Reef, Dee Why, North Curl Curl, South Curl Curl and Freshwater.
  • 27 September - 1 December 2008, 9am-5pm
  • 2 December 2008 - 22 February 2009, 9am-6pm
  • 23 February - 26 April 2009, 9am-5pm

These beaches are patrolled weekend and public holidays by lifeguards and volunteers and Monday to Friday by lifeguards during the dates listed above.

Narrabeen and South Narrabeen are patrolled by professional lifeguards and Surf Life Saving Club volunteers on weekends and public holidays during October, November, December, January, February, March and April. During the summer school holidays - 22 December 2008 to 23 January 2009, these beaches are patrolled seven days a week by professional lifeguards and also volunteers on the weekends and public holidays.

Parking

Warringah Council's beach car parks have a Pay 'n' Display system. Parking is free for cars with a Warringah Council parking sticker. Disabled parking is also available.
