Sportsfield Availability

Grounds can be closed at any time by Council. Generally they will only be closed should there be a risk to users due to capital work projects, maintenance, reactive works or wet weather.

Click on the link for a fuller explanation of sports ground availability and the current status of sports ground closures, including wet weather.

Bookings

Non-casual use of Council’s sportsfields is not permitted without prior approval of Council. This prevents conflict with scheduled maintenance, capital works and avoids duplicate bookings. To book a sports ground you must have $10 million Public Liability Insurance.

For general school bookings, sport carnivals and cross country events, complete a Sportsfield Booking Application Form (PDF, 33KB) and fax it to 9942 2646; or email reservebookings@warringah.nsw.gov.au

Access to some reserves and public amenities may require a key, which is subject to a fee and a bond.  Keys require a deposit/bond of $50 which is refunded on its return.  Application for keys is through the Reserves Booking Office on 9942 2545 and collection of keys is via the Customer Service Centre (Warringah Council 725 Pittwater Rd Dee Why) and requires 7 days notice.

Cancellations

If a confirmed booking is cancelled for an event within 30 days of the hire date, an administration fee of 20% of the booking fee will be charged. No refund of the hire fee is payable if notice of cancellation is received after the date of the function, unless the event is cancelled by Council.

  • Warringah Council reserves the right to cancel bookings at any time due to emergencies or other issues associated with the management of reserves.  A full refund will be provided in this instance.
