Air Quality Guidelines

Air pollution isn't just about big industry regulated by the State and Federal governments. It also concerns small to medium sized industrial under the care and control of local Councils.
Warringah Council has produced guidelines on air pollution in partnership with small to medium sized industrial businesses in Warringah. The project was assisted by the NSW Government’s Clean Air Fund.
The guidelines were developed to improve the way air pollution is managed by these businesses. They provide an introduction to the complexities of air pollution control and are a resource for Council officers.
Officers use the guidelines as a reference when deciding on which control measures are appropriate depending on circumstances. The guidelines assist officers to use a consistent approach when dealing with air quality concerns. They also help improve the level of expertise and accessibility to relevant information.
The guidelines give minimum standards of controls for air quality relevant to businesses to follow now and in the next five years.
