There are many different rebates available from various sources and it can be confusing to keep up to date. This fact sheet will help you to know what rebates are available now, and where to get them.

Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme

Solar hot water

The household Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme assists households to save money on power bills and reduce their carbon emissions. Eligible households can claim a rebate of $1,000 for a solar hot water system or $600 for a heat pump hot water system.

Fridge Buyback Scheme

Fridge Buyback This program removes and recycles energy guzzling second fridges from your home. Eligibility criteria apply but you could be paid $35 for your old fridge and could save up to $200 per year on energy bills.

WaterFix Program

toiletAs part of Sydney Water’s WaterFix Program, five services are offered to households:

- installation of water efficient showerheads, 4-star, dual flush toilets, and flow regulating aerators or in-body flow regulators

- single flush toilet adjustments

- tap and toilet leak repairs

Depending on your requirements you can choose one service, a combination of services or all services offered.  

NSW Government Schools Energy Efficiency Program

The Schools Energy Efficiency Program under the NSW Climate Change Fund provides $20 million to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions from NSW public high schools. Open to approximately 225 NSW high schools, key elements of the program include lighting retrofits, student savings funds, curriculum materials, internet access to school electricity meters.
