Book Club FAQ
Book clubs must be registered with us. Any member of our Libraries can register their book club. Registered members are responsible for the prompt return of Book Club Kits and the payment of any fees and charges.
Our service costs $60 per financial year.
Overdue charges are $2.75 per day until the complete set of books is returned, and there are fees for lost or damaged items.
Sorry, we do not take holds on Book Club Kits.
The kits can be borrowed for six weeks only. Book Club kits cannot be renewed.
Yes. A maximum of two kits can be on loan to a group.
The box and all of its contents must be returned together as a complete set to the library during opening hours.
If your group loses or damages a book it must be replaced. Damage includes anything beyond normal wear from reading. You may pay the replacement cost at any of our Libraries. We appreciate it if you resolve these matters as soon as possible so that the kit can be ready for another group.
The books are selected in collaboration with our book clubs and include both fiction and non-fiction titles. They cater for a wide range of tastes and include: classics, contemporary fiction, memoirs and books dealing with social, historical and philosophical issues.
Your Book Club can choose from our huge collection of books. There is something for everyone, from the latest releases to old favourites.
Your suggestions for new books are always welcome!
