Media Release - Warringah Council - Top Performer in DA Assessments

Warringah is one of two Sydney councils to process the average Development Application in less than 50 days and is one of the top 5 most improved councils.
The figures are in the State Government’s newly released Local Development Performance Monitoring: 2010-11.
Warringah Council has continually improved its processing time, from an average of 126 days in 2006-7 to 52 days in 2009-10. In 2010-2011, that number fell to 46 days.
This equates to a 63% reduction in DA processing time since 2006-7.
“If you want a development to be assessed quickly and efficiently, come to Warringah,” said Warringah Council General Manager, Rik Hart.
“The report shows that Warringah Council processed an amazing $469 million worth of DAs in a year.
“In line with our focus on continual improvement, we’ve sliced our processing times by 11% in one year which is a mighty achievement,” he added.
Warringah Council determined 1,849 DAs worth $469 million in 2010-11, averaging 84 DAs per officer per year (an average value of works of $253,989 per DA).

Warringah: 46 days
Manly: 90 days
Pittwater: 93 days
