Media Release - Book of Life
Three local organ donor families and two organ recipient families will be attending Warringah Mall Library on Friday 24 February as part of the Book of Life Tour.
The Book of Life is a collection of stories, poems and songs from individuals and families whose lives have been changed or saved by an organ and tissue donation.
Stories from the donor and recipient families attending the event have been published in the book.
“The book pays tribute to individuals who have donated an organ and to their families,” said Warringah Mayor, Michael Regan.
“My brother-in-law received a donated cornea so I have a personal understanding of what a remarkable difference it can make to someone’s life.
“I encourage everyone to come along, hear these amazing stories and talk to their loved ones about their organ donation wishes,” said Warringah Mayor, Michael Regan.
The Book of Life has been created by DonateLife and is visiting the Northern Sydney area during DonateLife Week. It will be displayed in the NSW State Library, before going to its final home at the Australian National Library in March.
