Media Release - Three New Playgrounds for Warringah
Three new and improved playgrounds are officially being opened Monday 6 February, providing a fun, safe environment for hundreds of children and their families.
The parks now have new playground equipment, rubber surfacing, seating, landscaping and pathways.
"This is a great boost to these three suburbs which have a high number of families with small children," said Warringah Mayor, Michael Regan.
"Good playgrounds not only provide exercise and fun for kids but also give them opportunities to socialise and develop," he added.
Funding of $190,000 for the works came from the Federal Government's Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program.
Warringah Council managed the project, designed the parks and also contributed $35,000.
