Media Alert - Golf Ball Risk at Narrabeen Lagoon

January 24, 2012

Warringah Council is warning users of the unofficial track along Cromer Golf Course foreshore to be aware of golf balls.

"More people are using the unofficial track across Cromer Golf Club since the opening of the first stage of the Multi-use Trail," said a Council Spokeswoman.

"People should be aware that there is a real threat of injury and that they're using the track at their own risk.

"Access to the informal track over the weir at South Creek is also unsafe. People who use this route do so at their own risk," she added.

The track runs partially on the Crown land along the foreshore and across Cromer Golf Club's private property.

Warringah Council does not recommend or endorse the use of the informal track or the weir and also asks that walkers respect the Golf Club's private property.

The Narrabeen Lagoon Trail adjacent to the Cromer Golf Club and Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation (Stage 2B) is due to be completed in 2014.
