Media Release - Brookvale Oval – Works Update
Warringah Council is preparing the foundations for the latest rounds of improvements to Brookvale Oval.
The works mark the last stage of improvements paid from a $6 million grant from the State Government and $4 million of funds from Warringah Council.
Construction is going full-steam ahead so all works can be finished in time for the Sea Eagles first home game of 2012.
Warringah Mayor, Michael Regan, visited the site to inspect progress, first hand.
"Once this is completed there will be 260 new undercover seats in the Jane Try Stand and fans will notice a real improvement when they come to see the Sea Eagles first kick off for 2012."
"Disabled fans will now have improved access to the Jane Try concourse and Ken Arthurson Stand and there will be new undercover seats for them and their carers.
"There will also be a larger, better ‘Eagles Nest Café’, so there will less queuing for those half time
snacks and drinks."
"In addition there will be 200 new corporate seats."
Warringah Council recently went to public exhibition with options to secure the future of Brookvale Oval and Park.
The results of the extensive consultation are due to be reported back to Council in the next few months.
