Media Release - Northern Composure – One Month To Go

January 20, 2012

There's just one month left for young, local unsigned bands to get their demos in for Warringah Council's 11th annual Northern Composure Band Competition.

To enter, bands are required to submit a demo on USB or CD with a minimum of three songs, a short biography and a completed entry form by 5pm Monday 13 February. The demo does not need to be professional quality.

Eighteen bands will vie for a spot in the final at heats staged at YOYO's Youth Centre during March.

"This competition gives our young musicians vital stage experience as well as the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes," said Warringah Mayor Regan.

Bands that make it through to the final will battle it out to win the Judges Choice Award and bring home a whole swag of musical equipment. Other awards include; Audience Choice, Schools Award and Junior Encouragement Award.

C.O.F.F.I.N., last year's Northern Composure winner, walked away with the lion's share of $33,000 worth of prizes.
