The Guringai Festival celebrates one of the oldest cultures in the world with a modern day corroboree bringing together the Northern Sydney region across Warringah, Ku-ring-gai, Pittwater, Willoughby, Lane Cove, Hornsby, Pittwater and North Sydney.
Warringah is blessed with having the largest number of Aboriginal residents in the
Northern Sydney region and a wealth of natural bushland and coastal areas abundant with Indigenous carvings that illustrate the unique knowledge and relationship Aboriginal
people have with the environment.
Council acknowledges the traditional owners of the land, the Guringai people on whose land Warringah now stands.
The Guringai Festival raises awareness for National Sorry Day, the National Day of
Healing, Reconciliation Week and finishes at the end of the National Aboriginal and
Islander Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) week.
