When do I need a Hoarding Permit?
A hoarding permit is required when any construction activity requires the placement of overhead hoardings, scaffolding, site fencing, site offices or other facilities on Council property. The approval to erect a hoarding on Council property is required under Section 138 of the Roads Act 1993. The hoarding must not impede pedestrian access on the footpath area.

When do I need an Outdoor Eating Area Licence?
An Outdoor Eating Area Licence is required before placing any tables, chairs or umbrellas on Council roads and/or road reserves (footpaths) for outdoor eating purposes.
How do I obtain an Outdoor Eating Area Licence?
An Application for an Outdoor Eating Area Licence (Section 125 Roads Act 1993) must be completed and lodged (along with detailed floor plans and proof of
$10 Million Public Liability Insurance - minimum - with Council noted as an Interested Party) with Council by mail, or in person at Council's Customer Service Centre with the relevant fees and charges.

Permit to Place Building Materials on Footpaths
When do I need a Permit to Place Building Materials on Footpaths?
A permit to place building materials on footpaths is required when building material is to be stored temporarily on Council’s road and/or reserve (e.g. bricks, sand and pipes etc.).
The storage of materials must not impede pedestrian access. If necessary, it must be adequately barricaded to ensure the safe flow of pedestrian traffic. Silt and sediment control will be required for building materials likely to be washed away during storms.
Once the materials are moved from the footpath area, it is to be re-instated to the original condition.

When do I need a Permit to Stand Plant?
A permit to stand plant must be obtained if the construction activities require the standing of a mobile crane or concrete pump on Council’s road way and/or road reserve.
How do I obtain a Permit to Stand Plant?
A permit to stand plant application form must be completed and lodged with Council by mail, or in person at Council's Customer Service Centre, with the relevant fees and charges. Urgency fees apply if the permit is required in less than 2 days time.
You are required to obtain the permit prior to the commencement of work.
After Hours Permit to Stand Plant
An approval for an after hours permit to stand plant is required from Council’s Planning and Development Services and Roads Traffic and Waste departments. Your application must be made in writing and lodged with Council by mail, or in person at Council's Customer Service Centre.
