Locality Statements
There are 73 Localities making up the Warringah Local Environmental Plan 2000 (WLEP2000). Each Locality has been identified because it has distinctive features in the natural and built environment which make up its character. The WLEP2000 reflects that character in the Desired Future Character Statement for each locality. This statement provides objectives for future development in the Locality, its future character and the type and form of new development. Each Locality Statement also includes the categories of land uses that are or may be consistent with the desired future character, standards to control the built form of development in that Locality as well as listing any heritage items contained in the Locality.

Instructions for viewing and printing your Locality Statement
- Click on the map in which the suburb is located e.g. Terrey Hills = Map 4 (see Map Index below for a guide indicating the map/s in which particular suburbs fall).
- Identify the property on the downloaded map (Adobe PDF) by using the zoom tools, which resemble a magnifying glass.
- The property will fall inside a Locality with a reference e.g. A2. The map key explains any shaded area or colouring.
- After determining the Locality, use the back button to return to the appendices. Click on the relevant appendix, e.g. Appendix A contains A Localities and so forth.
- To obtain Localities further in the document (for example Locality A2) you can either scroll down to the relevant section in the document, or click on the option “Bookmarks” on the far left side of the screen, which will give you a direct link to the relevant Locality.
- Locality Statements range in size from 1 to 15 or so pages. To print out your Locality, note the page number that it starts and ends with in the bottom Adobe bar. For example, Locality A2 is from page 6 of 36 to page 11 of 36 (please note these page numbers are subject to change).
- To print Locality Statement A2 select the print icon from the adobe toolbar. In the print range section select pages 6 to 11.
- Press print.
