Council's Youth Services organise 10 to 12 all-ages band nights each year at YOYO's Youth Centre or Cromer Community Centre for larger events.

Upcoming band nights...

Band nights usually include one or two headline bands with two to three local support bands. Band nights provide young people with safe, affordable and age appropriate evening entertainment options. The target age group is 14 to 18 years old. It is recommended that those attending are aged at least 14.

Council's staff and full professional security are present on the night with no drugs, alcohol or intoxicated persons permitted into the venue. There are No Pass-Outs, which means you cannot go in and out of the venue unless you choose to re-pay the entry fee, and door checks of bags etc are mandatory for patron safety.

Band nights provide an outlet for young local bands to perform live on stage. If you would like a gig, send in a demo and bio to Warringah Council Youth Services, Civic Centre, 725 Pittwater Road Dee Why NSW 2099.

One of the best opportunities for younger bands is the annual Northern Composure Band Competition – this is where we draw most of our talent from for the rest of the year even if you don’t win or even make the finals.

Council gives priority to young local bands from Sydney's northern beaches. It is rare for bands from outside the area to get a show unless they can demonstrate they have built up a significant following which would appeal to young people in Warringah. The annual Band Comp also gives priority to local bands.

If you are from outside the northern Sydney region, hassle your local Council, PCYC, youth centre, community services to host their own band nights! Music NSW Indent program provides funding and lots of advice on how to go about doing this.
