Council provides a range of childcare and educational services to meet the needs of more than 2,000 families with children aged up to 12 years. Council's Referral and Information Service provides advice to parents and carers about available childcare choices and support, coordinates placements and manages the children services database.

Care and education is provided for children aged 0 to 6 years in Council's four Long Day Care centres and Mobile Occasional Care service. There are 52 self-employed Family Day Care carers who look after children in their own homes.

Council manages a quarterly Vacation Care program at five locations throughout Warringah. Additional support services are provided to integrate children with special needs into the services. For more on these services click on the pictures below.

Council also provides premises to various community based childcare centres at reduced rental. We work with regional councils on the State-funded Families First Project to focus on early intervention and prevention for families with children aged up to eight years.

The Children's and Family Services Strategy is Council's Children's and Family Services Strategyblueprint for planning childcare, and other services for children and families, from now till 2011. The strategy provides a vision for Council that acknowledges the importance of quality, affordable childcare for Warringah's families and beyond. For more click on the image.
