Warringah's 2011 annual Dogs Big Day Out was held on Sunday August 28 at Frenchs Forest Showground. It was a fun day for the whole family with activities ranging from animal demonstrations, agility trials, best trick, cutest puppy, dog and owner look-alike and best rescue dog competitions. Australia's leading animal trainers Steve Austin and Ravi Wasan were MCs and provided educational instruction for dog owners. View 2011 Program.

Call for Sponsors

Warringah Council is seeking sponsors for the highly popular 2011 Dogs Big Day Out. The event attracts over 4,000 people and provides a great opportunity to reach dog owners in the local and surrounding community. Sponsor packages range from $250 to $4,000. Benefits include logos on promotional material distributed to ratepayers, major sponsors receive a free stalls and logos on the program for prize sponsors.

Call for Stallholders

Warringah Council is seeking expressions of interest from people who would like to hold a stall at the 2011 Dogs Big Day Out. The event attracts over 4,000 people and is a great opportunity to expose services and products to the local dog owning community. Stalls range in price from $55 to $115 inc GST. Registered animal charities and welfare groups are eligible for a stall free of charge.

Steve Austin

Steve Austin

Steve Austin is recognised as Australia's premier dog trainer and is an expert in understanding and reforming dog behaviour. He has lectured to American Law Enforcement Agencies, trained Australia’s first truffle detector dog in Tasmania, spoken on animal training at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo, and trained Mount Everest Kennel Club in Katmandu.

Steve has appeared on numerous TV shows including 60 Minutes and the 7.30 Report. Steve’s most recent television appearance was with conservation dogs he trained to protect the 4 million seabirds on Macquarie Island, including royal penguins and four threatened species of albatross, from pest species such as rabbits and rats.

Steve is the current President of the Pet Industry Association of Australia (PIAA) and, with his wife Vicki, own and run Pet Resorts at Dural.

Ravi Wasan

Ravi Watson

Ravi Wasan is fast becoming a prominent figure in the Australian pet industry. Ravi is Head Supervisor for the Bird Department at Sydney Wildlife World and the founder of Feathered Friends Bird Behavioural Breeding Association of NSW. Ravi's ability to train birds, dogs and other animals has benefited many industries and has been called upon to guest speak at bird conventions and assist in shows with Steve Austin.

Ravi and his flock of highly trained birds have been seen on TV shows including The Today Show, Channel Ten News, Totally Wild, The Great Outdoors, Sydney Weekender.
