Mobile and temporary food premises operating in Warringah must comply with all aspects of the Food Act 2003 and the specific requirements detailed below.

Mobile Food Premises

All mobile food premises operating in Warringah are required to have a current approval issued by Council under the Local Government Act 1993. The approval must be visibly displayed on the vehicle.

  • All mobile food premises must be constructed in accordance with the NSW Food Authority Guidelines Mobile Food Vending Vehicles
  • All mobile food premises must be correctly registered with Council and have a current approval to operate a Mobile Food Van
  • Trading on, accessing or entering Council reserves is not permitted without specific approval. Approval may be considered by completing the Working on Reserves Permit Application
  • All mobile food premises are subject to inspection and approved inspection fees are charged

Temporary Food Premises

  • All temporary food premises must be constructed and operated in accordance with Council’s 'Requirements for the Operation of a Temporary Food Stall'

  • All temporary food premises must be correctly registered with Council and have a current approval to operate as a temporary food premises
  • The operation of a temporary event must be undertaken in accordance with an appropriate approval issued by Council
  • All temporary food premises are subject to inspection and approved inspection fees are charged
