Narrabeen Lagoon Boat Shed

WHERE: Narrabeen Lagoon

WHEN: January - March

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: One of the old boat sheds at the Academy of Sport are being removed and landscaping and fencing to the surrounds 

Howard Ave Houses

WHERE: Howard Ave, Dee Why

WHEN: January - February

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: The houses are being removed in preparation for the improved Walter Gors Park construction. (see the Dee Why Town Centre page for more information)

Stormwater Pipe installation

WHERE: Oaks Ave, Dee Why (Between the Post Office and Pittwater Road)

WHEN: February - April

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: These works will reduce the frequency and severity of flooding in the Dee Why Town Centre.

Glen Street Cultural Hub

WHERE: Glen Street, Belrose 

WHEN: February - December

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Works will include a new library linked to the current Glen Street Theatre.

Collaroy Beach Reserve Improvements

WHERE: Collaroy Beach Central Reserve and Carpark

WHEN: February - April

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Council is providing new paved pedestrian walkways, park furniture, additional lighting, landscaping and accessible parking arrangements  improving accessibility, safety, and user experience.

Bus Stop Upgrades

WHERE: Various locations

WHEN: December - March

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Installation of tactiles and seating to improve accessibility and comfort for the community.

Bike Path Work

WHERE: Campbell Pde, Manly Vale (Condamine St - Quirk St)

WHEN: January - February 

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Construction of a new shared path to allow cyclists and pedestrians safer travel routes as part of Council's Bike Plan.

Bike Lane Installations

WHERE: Fitzpatrick, Grace and Prince Charles Road, Frenchs Forest

WHEN: January - February

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Mixed traffic bike lane installation to allow cyclists safer travel routes as part of Council's Bike Plan.

New Footpath Connections

WHERE: Lagoon, Wellington, Ocean and Albemarle St, Narrabeen / Homestead, Ocean Grove, Stuart and Frazer St, Collaroy

WHEN: January - March

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: To provide active transport connections between current footpaths.

Traffic Island and Stairs

WHERE: Queenscliff Rd and Bridge St, Queenscliff

WHEN: February

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Upgrade to the stairs and traffic island to improve safety and bike access.

Bank Stabilisations 

WHERE: Myora Rd, Terrey Hills / Oliver Street, Freshwater

WHEN: February - March

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: To improve the safety of the road cuttings for pedestrians and vehicles.

Oxford Falls Road Storm Erosion Repairs

WHERE: Oxford Falls Road

WHEN: July 2016

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: We are investigating an engineered solution after severe erosion from the April 2015 storms caused the area to become and continue to be unstable. Half width of Oxford Falls Road between Morgan Road and Telstra Compound is closed for traffic. Portable traffic lights and signage are in place.  

Landfill Assessment

WHERE: Various locations at John Fisher Park, Curl Curl

WHEN: May - December

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Wells will be installed during June and the final installations will be flush with the ground level. These wells will be used to monitor the landfill. See more about the Landfill Assessment Project.

Erosion Stability

WHERE: Fishermans Beach Carpark, Long Reef

WHEN: May 2015 - November 2016

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: We are investigating an engineered solution after severe erosion from the April 2015 storms caused the area to become unstable.

 

 

RECENTLY COMPLETED

Griffith Park Trail

WHERE: Griffith Park

WHEN: November - early December

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Council is improving access along the trail. We will be replacing stairs with a new concrete and timber ramp next to Long Reef boardwalk. Please watch for diversions during construction.

Viewing Deck Repairs

WHERE: Robertson Street, Narrabeen

WHEN: November

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Repairing of timber deck and rails to improve safety and accessibility.

RFS Roof Restoration

WHERE: Davidson and Beacon Hill

WHEN: November - December

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Removal of old tile roof and placement of colourbond roofing and roof access safety system to upgrade the facilities for longevity.
