Traffic Control Plan

WHERE: Oxford Falls Road

WHEN: July - September 

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Half width of Oxford Falls Road between Morgan Road and Telstra  Compound is closed for traffic. A set of portable traffic lights and adequate signage has been installed to facilitate this one lane traffic operation along this section of road. Traffic lights will be in operation day and night, which will control the traffic from both directions. The road will be partially closed until the repairs are completed.  

 

Curl Curl Beach Reserve Path Works

WHEN: August - September

WHERE: Curl Curl Beach/ Flora & Richie Roberts Reserve 

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: We are improving accessibility and safety with a new concrete path along the reserve.

 

Griffith Park Irrigation

WHEN: September

WHERE: Griffith Park, Long Reef

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: We are installing an irrigation system to enable the field optimum condition.

 

Brookvale Creek Bank Stabilisation

WHEN: September

WHERE: Brookvale Creek between Pittwater Road and Warringah Golf Course, North Manly. 

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: We are working to reduce the impacts of creek bank erosion on a section of Brookvale Creek. One north-bound lane of Pittwater Road will be closed between Hope Avenue and Ankali Place from 10am 3pm, Monday to Friday, with the exception of Friday 18 September 2015. 

 

Landfill Assessment

WHERE: Various locations at John Fisher Park, Curl Curl

WHEN: May - December

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Wells will be installed during June and the final installations will be flush with the ground level. These wells will be used to monitor the landfill. See more about the Landfill Assessment Project.

 

Erosion Stability

WHERE: Fishermans Beach Carpark, Long Reef

WHEN: May 2015 - November 2016

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: We are investigating an engineered solution after severe erosion from the April 2015 storms caused the area to become unstable.

 

Stormwater Drainage Improvements

WHERE: Raffo Lane, Freshwater (between Wyndora and Oliver Street)

WHEN: April - September

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Repairs and relining of stormwater pipes to improve functionality. 

 

New Boat Sheds

WHERE: Narrabeen Lagoon (Middle Creek)

WHEN: March - September

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Building new boat sheds for use by the Academy of Sport. This will allow relocation of current equipment from old boat sheds prior to remedial works along this section of the trail.

 

New Footpaths 

WHERE: Edgecliffe Boulevard, Collaroy Plateau / Kenneth St, Manly Vale  / Ilikai Place, Dee Why

WHEN: September

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: New footpaths will laid to improve accessibility.

 

Road Resurfacing

WHEN: September

WHERE: Ellis Street, Oxford Falls /  Neridah Avenue, Belrose / Thuddungra Road, Duffys Forest / Victor Road, Narraweena / Prahran Avenue/Sorlie Road, Frenchs Forest / Fletcher Place, Davidson / Kambora Avenue, Belrose 

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Asphalt resurfacing and patch work to improve safety and provide smooth driving. There will be noise associated with these works and traffic controllers will be onsite. Every effort will be made to minimise the impact on residents. Hours of work are 7am – 5pm.

 

Pedestrian Stairway Replacement

WHERE: Aitken Road, Queenscliff

WHEN: July -  August

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: The timber stairs will be replaced with a reinforced composite material to improve access and durability.

 

Wharf Stairway Replacement

WHERE: Cottage Point Wharf

WHEN: September

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: The timber stairs will be replaced with a reinforced composite material to improve access and durability.

 

RECENTLY COMPLETED

Stony Range Accessibility Improvements 

WHERE: Stony Range Botanic Garden, Dee Why

WHEN: July -  August

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: New concrete paths, sandstone flagging and access roadworks will be installed to improve accessibility for visitors to the Botanic Garden.

 

Rhoker Trail Repairs

WHEN: August

WHERE: Rhoker Reserve, Duffys Forest

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Repairs to the sandstone trail to improve longevity of the multi-use surface.

 

Beacon Hill Oval Improvements

WHEN: August

WHERE: Beacon Hill Oval

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: A new concrete entrance and path will be installed to the soccer field to improve access for ambulance entry. Also additional fencing will be installed. 

 

Long Reef Footpath

WHERE: Griffith Park, Long Reef

WHEN: July -  August

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: New concrete footpath providing better and safer access between Fishermens Beach and Long Reef Headland. 

Tree planting and removal will also occur.

 

Extra Parking at Collaroy Beach Reserve 

WHERE: Car Park, north of the Collaroy Hotel

WHEN: July -  August

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Adding 12 new parking spaces in the existing car park. 

 

Miller Reserve Fencing

WHEN: August

WHERE: Miller Reserve, North Manly

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: New perimeter fencing is being installed to prevent unauthorised vehicles accessing and damaging the sportsfield.

 

Queenscliff Erosion Stabilisation 

WHEN: August

WHERE: Aitken Reserve, Queenscliff 

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Stabilisation works along the adjoining seawall will reduce the impacts of tidal erosion in the reserve.

 

Collaroy Bollard Installation

WHEN: August

WHERE: Pittwater Road, Collaroy 

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Bollards and an entry gate are being installed to prevent vehicles accessing the grassed reserve. This will prevent damage to the grass while still allowing pedestrian access.
