Traffic Detours Strand Dee Why
WHEN: Tuesday 28 July (weather dependant)
WHERE: The Strand Dee Why (between Howard Avenue and Oaks Avenue)
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Council will carry out essential pavement patching work to improve the safety of motorists and prevent further deterioration. The completed work will improve the riding quality and extend the life of the road pavement.
To enable the works to be undertaken, it will be necessary to detour traffic on The Strand, between Howard Avenue and Oaks Avenue, from 9:30am to 4pm. It is expected vehicular access may be affected and minor delays to traffic may be incurred during this work. Provision has been made for public busses to travel through the works with traffic controller assistance. 
 
Rhoker Trail Repairs
WHEN: 29 July – 4 August
WHERE: Rhoker Reserve, Duffys Forest
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Repairs to the sandstone trail to improve longevity of the multi-use surface.
 
Beacon Hill Oval Improvements
WHEN: 29 July – 4 August
WHERE: Beacon Hill Oval
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: A new concrete entrance and path will be installed to the soccer field to improve access for ambulance entry. Also illegally dumped mulch will be removed and fencing installed to prevent future occurrences. 
 
Traffic Control Plan
WHERE: Oxford Falls Road
WHEN: July - September 
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Half width of Oxford Falls Road between Morgan Road and Telstra  Compound is closed for traffic. A set of portable traffic lights and adequate signage has been installed to facilitate this one lane traffic operation along this section of road. Traffic lights will be in operation day and night, which will control the traffic from both directions. The road will be partially closed until the repairs are completed.  
 
Long Reef Footpath
WHERE: Griffith Park, Long Reef
WHEN: July -  August
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: New concrete footpath providing better and safer access between Fishermens Beach and Long Reef Headland. 
Tree planting and removal will also occur.
 
Extra Parking at Collaroy Beach Reserve 
WHERE: Car Park, north of the Collaroy Hotel
WHEN: July -  August
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Adding 12 new parking spaces in the existing car park. 
 
Curl Curl Beach Reserve Path Works
WHEN: August - September
WHERE: Curl Curl Beach/ Flora & Richie Roberts Reserve 
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: We are improving accessibility and safety with a new concrete path along the reserve.
 
Queenscliff Improvements
WHERE: Queenscliff Pavilion Reserve
WHEN: July
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Contractors are scheduled to remove damaged park furniture.
 
Drinking Fountains
WHERE: Griffith Park Long Reef
WHEN: July
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Contractors will be relocating the dog bag dispenser at Griffith Park and a drinking fountain is to be installed over the next few weeks.
 
Outdoor Showers
WHERE: Collaroy and Long Reef beaches
WHEN: July
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Contractors are currently stripping back and re-sealing the timber showers at Collaroy and Long Reef beaches
 
Landfill Assessment
WHERE: Various locations at John Fisher Park, Curl Curl
WHEN: May - December
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Wells will be installed during June and the final installations will be flush with the ground level. These wells will be used to monitor the landfill. See more about the Landfill Assessment Project.
 
Erosion Stability
WHERE: Fishermans Beach Carpark, Long Reef
WHEN: May 2015 - November 2016
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: We are investigating an engineered solution after severe erosion from the April 2015 storms caused the area to become unstable.
 
Stormwater Drainage Improvements
WHERE: Raffo Lane, Freshwater (between Wyndora and Oliver Street)
WHEN: April - September
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Repairs and relining of stormwater pipes to improve functionality. 
 
New Boat Sheds
WHERE: Narrabeen Lagoon Trail (Middle Creek)
WHEN: March - September
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Building new boat sheds for use by the Academy of Sport. This will allow relocation of current equipment from old boat sheds prior to remedial works along this section of the trail.
 
Fencing Program
WHERE: North Narrabeen – Freshwater Beach
WHEN: May - Aug
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Repairs and replacement of damaged dune fencing along all our beaches to ensure the dune stabilisation plants are protected.
 
New Footpaths 
WHERE: Grevillea Steet, Wheeler Heights / Edgecliffe Boulevard, Collaroy Plateau / Kenneth St, Manly Vale 
WHEN: July - August
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: New footpaths will laid to improve accessibility.
 
Pedestrian Stairway Replacement
WHERE: Aitken Road, Queenscliff
WHEN: July -  August
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: The timber stairs will be replaced with a reinforced composite material to improve access and durability.
 
Wharf Stairway Replacement
WHERE: Cottage Point Wharf
WHEN: July -  August
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: The timber stairs will be replaced with a reinforced composite material to improve access and durability.

Playground Improvements
WHERE: Beverley Job Park Playground Renewal, Narraweena

WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: Council has installed new playground equipment including  including new senior and junior play spaces with whirly go-round,  swings, worm climber and multi play unit with slide. Works also included landscaping to the surrounding area.
 
Stony Range Accessibility Improvements

WHEN: July -  August
WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU: New concrete paths, sandstone flagging and access roadworks will be installed to improve accessibility for visitors to the Botanic Garden.
